Dańkowskie Diament is a widely grown rye variety in Poland and one of the highest-yielding among registered population rye varieties.
The plants are medium-height and have good lodging resistance.
Under intensive cultivation, stem shortening and protection against brown rust are recommended.
A major advantage of Dańkowskie Diament is its very good grain quality, making it ideally suited for milling and baking purposes. This is due to its high falling number, high maximum viscosity of the starch paste and high final gelatinization temperature.
Its good resistance to pre-harvest sprouting allows the grain to maintain good quality for longer under unfavourable weather conditions during harvest.
The variety is suitable for monoculture cultivation.
The recommended sowing rate under optimal sowing conditions is 280–320 viable seeds/m² (approx. 90–110 kg/ha).
For delayed sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%.
