Very high winter hardiness, rated at 5.0 on a 9-point scale, provides excellent crop security. The variety has high tillering ability and requires low seed rates.
A medium-height variety (approx. 90 cm) with very good lodging resistance.
Kask has high disease resistance, particularly to powdery mildew, stem base diseases, yellow rust, tan spot (DTR) and Fusarium head blight.
It performs well on medium-quality and good soils.
It produces large grain with good uniformity and a low proportion of screenings (TGW 45–50 g).
Excellent grain quality parameters in the A quality class, including protein content of 13–13.5% and a grain test weight of 80 kg/hl.
In line with the principles of the European Green Deal.
At the optimum sowing date, the recommended sowing rate is 300–350 viable seeds/m² (approx. 160–180 kg/ha).
For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%.
For late sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
