Kariatyda

Kariatyda is a quality winter wheat variety bred by DANKO, registered in Poland in 2020.
It is characterized by high yield potential under both medium-intensive and intensive cultivation systems.
It is an early variety, which is particularly important when cultivated on weaker soils and in dry years.
It has medium-length straw and good lodging resistance.
It performs excellently on medium-quality soils.
It has high winter hardiness, rated at 4.5 on a 9-point scale.
The variety has very good disease resistance, particularly to snow mould, powdery mildew, stem base diseases, yellow rust, tan spot (DTR) and Fusarium head blight.
Kariatyda produces attractive, large grain (TGW comparable to Hondia, at approx. 50 g).
It has very good tillering ability and is suitable for late sowing, particularly after maize.
At the optimum sowing date, the recommended sowing rate is 300–350 viable seeds/m², i.e. approx. 160–180 kg/ha.
