Sikorka

Sikorka is a DANKO-bred winter wheat variety characterized by high yields under both medium-intensive and intensive cultivation systems.
It performs excellently on medium-quality soils.
Sikorka has a very high falling number and gluten content – E quality level. Its protein content is on the borderline between the B and C quality groups, which resulted in its registration in the C group. To increase the protein content in the grain, top-dressing with approx. 30 kg N/ha is recommended.
Sikorka has good disease resistance, particularly to powdery mildew, yellow rust, brown rust and Fusarium head blight. Intensive fungicide protection is not required, helping to optimize production costs.
It has high tolerance to soil acidity, making it suitable for cultivation on soils with unregulated pH.
It is characterized by good resistance to pre-harvest sprouting.
Produces attractive grain with a TGW of approx. 45–48 g.
A medium-height variety (similar in type to Tytanika wheat) with good lodging resistance. However, under intensive cultivation, stem shortening or stiffening is recommended.
Sikorka has very good tillering ability; a reduced sowing rate is recommended.
At the optimum sowing date, the recommended sowing rate is 310–350 viable seeds/m² (approx. 160–170 kg/ha).
