Sanmarino

Sanmarino is new short-strawed winter triticale variety, with high adaptability to a wide range of climatic and soil conditions and good tolerance to a poor preceding crop.
It is recommended for medium-quality and weaker soils (Classes IIIb–IVb), under both medium-intensive and intensive production systems. The variety is medium-late maturing, which supports the development of high yield potential.
The plants produce long ears and have shortened straw, providing good lodging resistance and making crop management easier.
Sanmarino has very good winter hardiness (5.0) and good resistance to key diseases, including stem-base diseases, powdery mildew, rust and leaf Septoria.
It also stands out for its exceptional resistance to pre-harvest sprouting.
The grain is large and plump (TGW 50–55 g), with high density and good uniformity, as well as high nutritional value. Its strong tillering ability allows for lower sowing rates, helping to reduce production costs.
The recommended sowing rate under optimal sowing conditions is 270–320 viable seeds/m² (approx. 140–160 kg/ha).
For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%. For delayed sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
