Lacerta

Lacerta is new high-quality winter wheat variety bred by DANKO, registered in Poland in 2026 after two years of trials. The variety stands out for its record-high and stable yield potential, particularly under less intensive fertilization and reduced pesticide use.
It is an early variety with uniform ripening, which facilitates efficient harvest planning and supports safe grain storage. It escapes pre-harvest drought.
Lacerta is characterized by very good resistance to key wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, brown rust, yellow rust, tan spot (DTR) and Septoria leaf blotch.
The variety has very high winter hardiness, providing excellent crop security even during cold, snow-free winters. It has medium-length straw (slightly taller than Alegoria and Iluminacja, but shorter than Biesiada) and high lodging resistance, which is particularly strong before harvest.
Lacerta produces very well-calibrated grain with a low proportion of screenings, very high vitreousness and high TGW.
Lacerta is a variety for growers looking for a combination of high yield, earliness and reduced input requirements – providing stability and security of production.
At the optimum sowing date, a rate of 300–350 seeds/m² (150–180 kg/ha) is recommended. For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%. For late sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
