• Fabian is a new winter wheat variety, registered in Poland in 2024.
• It delivers very high and stable yields in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany.
• It performs exceptionally well on acidic soils.
• The variety has very good disease resistance, particularly to powdery mildew, stem base diseases, brown rust, yellow rust, tan spot (DTR) and Fusarium head blight. It is also resistant to cereal mosaic virus (Sbm1 gene).
• It is characterized by good lodging resistance. It carries the Rht1 gene, which helps prevent stem breakage.
• Fabian has good winter hardiness (4.0).
• It produces a beautiful, loose ear with large, plump grain (TGW approx. 46 g).
• The variety is suitable for late sowing and for cultivation after maize and sugar beet.
• At the optimum sowing date, a rate of 300–350 seeds/m² (150–180 kg/ha) is recommended.
• For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%.
• For late sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
