Dańkowskie Chantal

  • Dańkowskie Chantal is the newest population winter rye variety, registered in Poland in 2025. Already during registration trials, it proved its outstanding yield potential, achieving the highest yields among all population rye varieties in COBORU trials (2023–2024).
  • A versatile and adaptable variety, Dańkowskie Chantal performs excellently even under less favourable farming conditions. It shows very good tolerance to simplified crop rotations, making it ideal for farms with limited rotation options.
  • It demonstrates high resistance to major rye diseases, including ergot, stem rust, stem base diseases, and rhynchosporium.
  • Produces large, heavy, and dense grains (approx. 74 kg/hl), ensuring both high yield and excellent raw material quality.
  • The falling number remains stable even during challenging harvest weather, guaranteeing reliable grain quality.
  • Offers very good flour yield and quality, meeting the expectations of both farmers and millers.
  • Shows excellent tillering capacity, ensuring good stand density and uniform crop development.
  • Recommended sowing rate: 2 sowing units – 260 viable grains per m² (approx. 80–90 kg/ha).
  • For early sowing and intensive cultivation: reduce the rate by 10% (to 1.8 s.u./ha).
  • For delayed sowing: increase the rate by 10% (to 2.2 s.u./ha).
