- Bravia is a new winter wheat variety bred by DANKO, registered in 2025 after two years of trials. It was developed for farms looking for high and stable yields under different levels of agricultural technology.
- The variety stands out for its very good yield potential, confirmed in numerous European countries.
- It is characterized by very early heading, which is particularly important in dry years. Uniform ripening supports efficient harvesting and safe grain storage.
- Bravia has high resistance to the most important wheat diseases, including stem base diseases, brown rust, tan spot (DTR), Septoria leaf and glume blotch, and Fusarium head blight. This allows fungicide applications to be reduced and production costs lowered. Thanks to its high disease resistance, the variety is suitable for monoculture as well as cultivation after maize.
- The variety has good winter hardiness (4.0), providing greater crop security. Plants are of medium height; the use of plant growth regulators is recommended under intensive cultivation.
- The grain is characterized by good test weight, uniformity and very high vitreousness. Bravia stands out for its high protein and gluten content and high falling number, making it particularly well suited for milling and baking purposes.
- At the optimum sowing date, a rate of 300–350 seeds/m² (150–180 kg/ha) is recommended. For early sowing and intensive cultivation, the sowing rate should be reduced by 10%. For late sowing, the sowing rate should be increased by 10%.
