History

DANKO Hodowla Roślin Sp. z o. o. continues the traditions of cereal farming in Poland, which dates back to 1880. It was then that Aleksander Janasz initiated cereal and sugar beet breeding in Dańków..

Despite many organisational and proprietary changes, the continuity of breeding materials and breeding ideas were maintained throughout all these years, contributing significantly to the creation and development of Polish plant breeding school.

Milestones:

1880 Aleksander Janasz establishes winter wheat and winter rye breeding programs at Dańków
1950 Compulsory state supervision over the Janasz company
1958 Nationalization under tha name Dańkowska Hodowla Roślin
1964 Incorporation into Poznańska Hodowli Roślin
1991 Foundation of DANKO Hodowla Roślin SP
1993 Transformation into DANKO Hodowla Roślin Sp. z o.o.
2003 Pałucka Hodowli Roślin Sp. z o.o. joined with DANKO Hodowla Roślin Sp. z o.o
2009 Companies of the "Szelejewo" Group (SHR Szelejewo, SHR Modzurów, KHR PIAST Łagiewniki) built into the structures of DANKO Hodowla Roślin Sp. z o.o.
